Rockstar Programming

I love the idea of the Rockstar Programming Language.

At a time when recruiters were in the habit of advertising for “Rockstar Programmers” which isn’t particularly quantifiable, there was a joke going around that “Someone should make a programming language called ‘Rockstar'”. One evening, while waiting to meet friends Dylan Beattie decided to run with the joke and created the language spec. Next thing he knew, people were implementing it.

Why is Wi-Fi on Planes So Bad?

It comes down to a combination of coverage and capacity. There aren’t a lot of cell towers on the oceans, so nowadays the airlines (at least the ones that offer WiFi) are switching to satellites.
